Who we are
Founded in 1898, we've been actively enjoying the Toms River and Barnegat Bay ever since. We are a private, seasonal club with a very active social scene. Many of our members spend significant summer hours enjoying boating on the bay, either leisure cruising or sailboat racing. Parties and events are held every weekend throughout the summer season. We also host a number of sailing regattas every year. Please check out our membership info if you would be interested in learning more about joining us.
Unchanged since our founding over a century ago:
"The objects of this club shall be:
to promote yachting and rowing and to foster athletic sports on the water and to promote the general prosperity of Island Heights."

Volunteerism
Volunteerism is a key part of IHYC membership and there are many opportunities to become involved at the club. For more than five generations families have worked together to guide the club’s sailing and social activities, thereby promoting and strengthening sailing and life-long friendships. In addition to these activities, there are many committees that help operate the club and these always encourage the willing assistance of members.
